Exhibition Launch Fund
The club owns two large, high power rockets. One is a model of the classic V2, and the other is a special, Arizona/SSS-themed rocket. Due to the size of these rockets, they must be launched on Level 3 high-power motors, typically in the "M" range.
Therefore, the club has established an Exhibition Launch Fund, which is a way for club members or others to donate toward the purchase of motors required to launch of one or both of these magnificent rockets. At the end of each launch season, the club officers also vote to donate some amount from the club's general fund to the Exhibition Launch Fund.
Once enough funds have been accumulated, the club will purchase the motor(s) needed, and we will promote the upcoming Exhibition Launch of one (or both) of these rockets at an upcoming general club launch.
If you would like to donate to this fund, you may do so via the "Donate to SSS" link on this site. Simply specify in the comments section that you'd like your donation to go to the Exhibition Launch Fund.
Depending on the size of the motor, "M" motors cost anywhere from about $600 to a little over $1000.
As of summer 2026, the current Exhibition Motor Fund balance is at $250.
